Training Locations
You are probably curious about where we train and dive.
National Diving and Activity Centre
The site of the National Diving & Activity Centre, just outside Chepstow in Monmouthshire is a former limestone quarry called "Dayhouse Quarry". It has been flooded for some 7 years since quarrying ceased. Prior to it's flooding, the quarry base was re-profiled and outline planning consent was given for it's use as a dive centre.

What is there to see:

Cromhall
Cromhall is a new inland diving site just off J14 of the M5 in South Gloucestershire. It is an ideal open water training site with a maximum depth of 17m, good underwater visibility (17m !!), and boat cover with oxygen on board.
- It is open 09:00 to 17:00 at weekends, but boat cover ceases at 16:00.
- You can either do a giant stride entry off a substantial pontoon or wade in at the opposite end of the lake. At either point you can park your car within walking distance of the water (even with twins on your back).
- Entrance fee is £10
- There are a few bits and pieces in the quarry - cars, bikes, canoes etc, and some new training platforms, but the main attraction has to be the Newts (see pic below) which make the site protected by the Env Agency, hence the lack of fish. There is one HUGE black and white carp in there so kep your eyes open.
- On-site facilities are sparse at the moment so make certain you take all the food, drinks you need, but they do sell cold drinks and choccie.
- Air only compressor
- Directions: 'Multimap' Cromhall Quarry, Cromhall, South Gloucestershire, GL12 8AA. Phone: 07970 1832862.
- The quarry is on the north side of the B4058 and the entrance is next to some steel pallisade railings. It is sign-posted with a small picture of an old -fashioned yellow diver's helmet on the railings - keep your eyes open it is easily missed. Follow the diving helmet signs through the lorry/coach park, taking care as you go.
