PADI Courses with learntodive.org.uk
Important: PADI diver training courses are performance based NOT time based.
We realise that everybody learns at a different pace. Therefore we keep class sizes small so everyone has personal attention.
Equipment: Hire of ALL required equipment is included with Discover Scuba, Scuba Diver, Open Water and EFR courses.
Knowledge Development: You will have a series of Knowledge Reviews to complete at home using supplied PADI Training manuals, videos & CD Rom, and your instructor then reviews these at regular intervals. Most courses have some sort of multi-choice exam towards the end, but you will be fully briefed on the requirements and what to revise, well in advance.
Confined Water Training: We currently use Llantarnum Leisure Centre in Cwmbran and also Lydney Leisure Centre in Chepstow. These pools have shallow and deep ends and are easily large enough for you to practice all the skills before your open water dives. For safety your pool training is conducted in water from 0 to 2 metres deep, this makes the transition to your open water dive site easy as your first two dives will be no deeper than about 9 metres. Your final two dives are to a maximum of 18 metres.
Openwater Training: For your convenience the majority of training is completed at either the National Diving and Activity centre at Chepstow, or Cromhall Quarry near Bristol. We may also be able to get out to the coast (Babbacombe, Meadfoot, Bridport) depending on the time of year and weather. See the Training Locations page for more info on where we train.
Transport: Is not included in course prices but if you have difficulty with transport, Car sharing can normally be arranged.
Course pricing: ALL Prices, unless quoted, are fully inclusive of Confined (pool) training, Openwater training, ALL required dive equipment, ALL PADI Training manuals / Crewpaks and certification fees.
Apart from what you eat and drink, the price you see is most you will pay. Prices will drop as the class size grows. So why not bring your partner or friends along to make it cheaper.....
NB: The only exception to this will be if you require more than 2 days at an inland diving site, which will entail additional entrance fees and air costs.
Certification / Qualification Cards: A temporary card will be issued by your Instructor on completion of your course, which is valid for 90 days. Your permanent life time certification card will be issued direct to you by PADI. You need to provide your Instructor with a colour passport size photograph before the completion of your course.
Medicals: Most people do not need to have a medical to learn to dive - simply answer a few simple questions about your health. In a few cases you may need to undertake a medical to ensure you are fit to dive. In the unlikely event you need a medical we will provide you with the required forms for your GP to sign. We also have links with ‘Specialist Diving Doctors’ who can conduct a medical if your GP is unable to complete this for you.
Payment for courses:
You may be asked for a deposit when booking a course depending on the time-frame. Deposits cover the cost of manuals, course materials and confirm your place on the course. The balance is payable before completion of the course.
